The premise is deceptively simple.
A sealed envelope.A different performer each night.No rehearsal. No director. No safety net.
At each performance, an actor walks onto the stage having never read the play they are about to perform. They have been instructed not to research the script, not to prepare, and simply to show up. Waiting for them is a sealed envelope containing Soleimanpour’s play.
The actor opens it in front of the audience and, from that moment forward, performer and audience discover what happens together.

Tom Allen-J.S. Bach's Long Walk in The Snow.
Master storyteller Tom Allen with Lori Gemmell, harp, Joey Wright, mandolin, Pete Gemmell, saxes and piano and singer Patricia O'Callaghan.
At 20, and in his first job as an organist, JS Bach got into such trouble the only thing he could do was to walk away. JS Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow takes you along on that trip: a 400 km odyssey to a glittering northern port city with street fights, big business, the father figure he didn’t know he needed and, quite possibly, love. With glorious music by harpist Lori Gemmell, mandolin master Joey Wright, singer Patricia O'Callaghan and sax/piano monster Pete Gemmell, JS Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow brings that troubled young man in from the cold.

Stephen Stanley & NoElectric - a hometown show at The Andrew in Picton, ON... The band will be joined by Annelise Noronha for a few songs and the matinee will be kicked off by Jennifer Foster.

NoElectric almost happened in 2016. I was toying with the idea of putting an all-acoustic band together on the heels of my exit from Lowest of the Low. But the songs had other ideas, and instead I formed the Stephen Stanley Band that went on to make 2 records, Jimmy & the Moon and Before the Collapse of the Hive, that band then played hundreds of live shows. But I guess I don't like to sit still. And after booking a show in Adolphustown in 2025, the promoter asked me to consider making the night an unplugged affair... and I immediately knew what must be done. I have been fortunate to play with so many gifted and accomplished musicians over the years, and this band is certainly no exception. Jason Mercer (upright bass, banjo), Michael O'Grady (accordion, tin whistle), and Chris Bennett (guitars) are all exceptional, intuitive musicians. NoElectric started as a vehicle to reinterpret my entire catalogue of songs, and quickly became a home for a lot of new music. We are taking it all on the road in early November 2026, which will likely lead to our first studio record. Picton has been my home for the past two years. I am loving every day here—the friends, the land and the water. So, playing The Andrew is going to be a complete and absolute treat. I love a show that I can walk to. We hope to see you on November 8th.

Toronto singer-songwriter Jennifer Foster brings her brand new album Powerline to The Andrew, in support of Stephen Stanley and NoElectric. Praised by Ron Sexsmith as “a wonderful collection of songs,” Powerline is an acoustic-driven folk-pop record inspired in part by the New Brunswick farm where she grew up, with songs about place, memory, love and loss that are both meaningful and musically surprising. Powerline marks Foster’s fourth release. Her previous album earned a JUNO nomination for Producer of the Year (Michael Phillip Wojewoda), and she has collaborated across the Canadian music community with artists including Ron Sexsmith, Carole Pope, Lori Cullen, Kevin Hearn, Moe Berg and The Pursuit of Happiness.

An Evening of Independent Music at The Andrew Join us on Saturday, September 26 at The Andrew in Picton for a rare night of some of Canada's most respected independent artists. Headlining the evening are Rae Spoon and Gentleman Reg.
Rae Spoon is an award-winning singer-songwriter, author, and multidisciplinary artist whose deeply personal songs have earned a devoted following across Canada and beyond. Blending folk, indie rock, and electronic influences, Rae's performances are intimate, fearless, and unforgettable.
Gentleman Reg has been a fixture of the Canadian indie music scene for more than two decades. Known for sharp songwriting, infectious melodies, and acclaimed releases on Arts & Crafts, Reg has toured extensively throughout North America and Europe, building a reputation as one of Canada's most distinctive indie-pop songwriters.

BIO
Ian Tamblyn began his professional life as a musician and songwriter at the Bobby Orr Pizza in Peterborough, 1972. Since that time, it has been a slice. Forty-sixalbums, CDs and cassettes later, Ian has recently released a retrospective of his work. Featuring twenty-six songs on the double CD and ten on the vinyl release, the collection is entitled Scenes through a Mirror.
In the past year Ian has been busy touring, mostly in Ontario and Quebec. He has also been working on a collection of Arctic stories and reflections that is now in the hands of editor, Season Osborne. Hopefully it will be ready for publication by the fall of 2027. The collection is entitled Chasing the North.
Last year Ian researched a story about his grandmother Vera Baird who was a singer in the lumber camps and towns of Northwestern Ontario. The project came about when Ian discovered her repertoire of sheet music in a piano bench. The research has developed into a musical play entitled Vera. Carson Beckie, a classical pianist, recorded twenty of these “found” songs. A workshop for this play was held in June 2024, with Carson (pianist), Sheena Turcotte (Vera), Eleanor Crowder, and director Mary Ellis.
Continuing with the theatre front, Dr. Tamblyn is involved with actor/director Maja Ardal bringing Otzi, the Cooper Age Iceman back to life! with an eye to a collaborative production. He is also involved in a theatrical adaptation of Brian Doyle’s book “Mary Anne Alice”. In the spring of 2025 Magnus Theatre, Thunder Bay ON toured Ian’s play “Land of Trash” across Northwestern Ontario. Ian has written seventeen plays.
Ian has won numerous awards and nominations throughout his career. Most recently Ian was nominated as English Songwriter of the Year by the Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2022. In the same year he was awarded membership as an Officer of the Order of Canada.

Ensemble Comtessa presents Florilegium, a vibrant collection of medieval songs from the British Isles (1150–1300) that traces the lifecycle of a flower through the seasons. These timeless works reveal the enduring foundations of “classical” tradition — where folk melody, chant, and courtly song first intertwined. Blending Celtic, troubadour, and plainchant traditions.
Presented with authentic medieval performance practices and period instruments, this program brings a richly layered musical culture shaped by centuries of cultural exchange to life.
With every ticket sold, BIGLAKE will donate 50% to Prince Edward Point Observatory (PEPtBO), a local charity that helps protect birds and other wildlife and their habitats on the South Shore through research, advocacy, and education.

The Worms began at Queen’s University in 1991 when some members of the student cabaret group, The Queen’s Players, started writing songs and sketches for the campus radio station CFRC. Soon the group became The Arrogant Worms (Chris Patterson, Mike McCormick, and Trevor Strong) who have since toured ceaselessly across Canada (and select other parts of the world), released 13 albums, and recorded with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Their song, The Last Saskatchewan Pirate, has been covered by bands such as Captain Tractor and The Longest Johns, and their Happy Happy birthday song is a viral sensation with over one hundred million views of the various fan videos on YouTube. More than thirty years after they began, The Arrogant Worms continue to provide tuneful and silly escapism for everyone who needs it.
