NoElectric almost happened in 2016. I was toying with the idea of putting an all-acoustic band together on the heels of my exit from Lowest of the Low. But the songs had other ideas, and instead I formed the Stephen Stanley Band that went on to make 2 records, Jimmy & the Moon and Before the Collapse of the Hive, that band then played hundreds of live shows. But I guess I don't like to sit still. And after booking a show in Adolphustown in 2025, the promoter asked me to consider making the night an unplugged affair... and I immediately knew what must be done. I have been fortunate to play with so many gifted and accomplished musicians over the years, and this band is certainly no exception. Jason Mercer (upright bass, banjo), Michael O'Grady (accordion, tin whistle), and Chris Bennett (guitars) are all exceptional, intuitive musicians. NoElectric started as a vehicle to reinterpret my entire catalogue of songs, and quickly became a home for a lot of new music. We are taking it all on the road in early November 2026, which will likely lead to our first studio record. Picton has been my home for the past two years. I am loving every day here—the friends, the land and the water. So, playing The Andrew is going to be a complete and absolute treat. I love a show that I can walk to. We hope to see you on November 8th.

Toronto singer-songwriter Jennifer Foster brings her brand new album Powerline to The Andrew, in support of Stephen Stanley and NoElectric. Praised by Ron Sexsmith as “a wonderful collection of songs,” Powerline is an acoustic-driven folk-pop record inspired in part by the New Brunswick farm where she grew up, with songs about place, memory, love and loss that are both meaningful and musically surprising. Powerline marks Foster’s fourth release. Her previous album earned a JUNO nomination for Producer of the Year (Michael Phillip Wojewoda), and she has collaborated across the Canadian music community with artists including Ron Sexsmith, Carole Pope, Lori Cullen, Kevin Hearn, Moe Berg and The Pursuit of Happiness.
