When Wells Run Dry: Drought and Farming in the County - Bay of Quinte Greens’ Speaker Series

  • The Andrew 31 King Street Prince Edward, ON, K0K 2T0 Canada (map)

2025 brought one of the most severe droughts in the County’s history, forcing farmers to adapt in real time to water scarcity. This event moves beyond abstract climate debates to hear from local farmers about what drought means - for crops, livestock, livelihoods, and the future of food production in the County.

Our Panel:

Don Wilford will give a brief overview of climate change and GHG emissions in the County followed by a panel discussion, including farmers: Andy Margetson (beef), Sam Branderhorst (dairy) and Dave Gillingham (grapes).

The panel will be led by our President, Robin Reilly.
